How to Watch The Resident: Season 6 Release Date
The Resident season 6 premiere will air on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. (ET). Those in the U.S. can watch it on FOX, the FOX NOW app or by logging in to the FOX website with a TV provider. Accepted providers include Hulu with Live TV, fuboTV, YouTube TV and Sling TV. If you’re subscribed to one of these services, you can also watch the FOX channel there.
As with all FOX shows, the season 6 premiere will be available on demand on Hulu the following day. An extra tip for medical drama fans — Grey’s Anatomy season 19 will also stream on Hulu on Oct. 7, 2022, one day after it airs on ABC on Oct. 6.
FOX, Hulu and streaming services with FOX are only available in the U.S. due to regional restrictions. If you have an account with these services but are traveling outside the U.S., you can access your U.S. accounts with a VPN.
To subscribe to Hulu and other services with FOX, you need a U.S. payment method, which makes things a tad tricker for people overseas who don’t have one. There is a workaround, though. If you don’t have a U.S. payment method, you can buy a prepaid Hulu gift card from an online vendor.
We’ll show you how to do this further down.
How Can I Watch The Resident Season 5 & Previous Seasons?
Previous seasons of The Resident are available on a few platforms, including Hulu, Amazon Prime Video (purchase only), Vudu (purchase only) and iTunes (purchase only). You can also stream season 5 on FOX’s website.
How to Watch The Resident for Free
The FOX website allows you to sample content for free for 60 minutes with its preview pass, but this isn’t feasible if you plan on watching more than one episode. When the 60 minutes are up, the website will prompt you to sign in with your TV provider.
If you’re in the U.S. or have a U.S. payment method, you can take advantage of Hulu’s 30-day free trial to stream The Resident. If you plan on watching The Resident when it airs, some livestreaming services with FOX also offer free trials, including YouTube TV and fuboTV.
Unfortunately, if you don’t have a U.S. payment method, you won’t be able to get a free trial with Hulu or other U.S. services (except for fuboTV — we were able to sign up for its trial without a U.S. payment method), but you can get a prepaid Hulu gift card.
How to Watch The Resident With a VPN
For those outside the U.S., this tutorial shows you how to sign up for Hulu without a U.S. payment method and stream The Resident from anywhere.

If you’re planning on streaming mostly from your PC or streaming device, NordVPN is our top recommendations. Its desktop app interface is in the form of a world map, which is perfect for switching servers quickly and navigating your way around — especially if you’re a beginner.
The world map is a little trickier to navigate on the mobile app, though.
In our recent speed tests, NordVPN crept into the top spot, which also makes it our best fast VPN recommendation. Speed is a crucial factor to consider when deciding which VPN to use for streaming, as you’ll want a buffer-free, lag-free experience. To find out more, check out our NordVPN review.
NordVPN also has a 30-day money-back guarantee if you’d like to try it out.

An old hand in the VPN world, ExpressVPN is an excellent streaming VPN, thanks to its robust security, great speeds and consistent performance with major streaming services like Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
One of the main reasons we recommend ExpressVPN — especially if you’re not familiar with VPNs — is its user-friendliness. If you’re just starting out, you’ll want something you can find your way around with minimal hassle. Both its desktop app and mobile app are really easy to navigate. To learn more about ExpressVPN, check out our ExpressVPN review.

The Best Free VPN to Watch The Resident
PrivadoVPN

PrivadoVPN is our favorite free VPN and the best choice for streaming The Resident without paying anything. It can reliably get into streaming sites, just like more premium VPNs, and manages decent speeds.
The free plan offers servers in 10 countries and a 10GB data limit. If you go over the data limit you’ll be throttled to 1Mbps, which is enough for light streaming but not much more. Read our PrivadoVPN review to find out more about this free provider.
If you like PrivadoVPN and want to access the full server network without any throttling, there is a premium plan you can get. It’s relatively affordable, but it falls behind other paid VPNs in terms of speed and locations.
